Titanic Love's maiden voyage so far...

In October 2011 a cast and crew of over 30 people set sail to produce the short film, Titanic Love. They embarked on a 6-day voyage to shoot the film across various historical and local areas of Birmingham, UK. Enlisting the aid of businesses from the regional community and as far away as Scotland and Los Angeles they pulled together this 22 minute piece of drama, which has since touched the hearts of many people worldwide.

After going into post-production at Birmingham University in the November of 2011 its first edit was produced and shown at the Stoke Your Fires Festival on Valentines Day 2012. It received a 5 star review in the local press knocking Ewan Mcgregors latest film off the top slot. It then went back into the edit for a few tweaks and was sent to our LA composer to produce the music including our key soundtrack, heard here.

This was a sailing start for the film and Titanic Love enjoyed a good many more viewings across the summer of 2012 including The Mac in Birmingham. This resulted in fans joining our Facebook page and showing their support at local screenings.

It was later in October that the film really had a chance to shine! It was nominated in The Best Short 2012 category at the MVSA Awards at the Black International Film Festival and it won!

A month later the film was nominated for the LA Comedy Kick Ass Awards and had a prestigious screening out in Hollywood. Our LA music producer, Mark Lynall, went there in support of the film as the production office was busy with the UK screenings and again it won its 2nd award – Best Screenplay 2012!

And that brings us up to 2013, March to be exact, and the year started with a trip to Bayreuth in Germany where the film was shown as a highlight screening at the Kontrast Film Festival. Shortly after coming back from Germany we won an Award for Excellence at The Indie Fest in Los Angeles. It’s 2nd LA award!

We continue to have screenings worldwide so check our news and screening page for updates. Finally, a word from the writer/director Mark Pressdee:

“Well as the filmmaker responsible for this film, I could not have not wished or expected such an amazing outcome. So a big thanks to all the cast, crew, associates and all who helped on this project, the film is now doing its job for us. “Titanic Love” is well and truly on her maiden voyage, thanks for your continued support”.
